Greystone Mansion Concours 2015: Bricks and Motors
Beverly Hills CA, May 3 2015 - Cindy Brynan is the event supervisor for the Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance. We spoke to Cindy about all of the day’s activities and contributors:
“This is our 6th year of the event and we are very excited to offer and host the event co-sponsored with the City of Beverly Hills and the Friends of Greystone. The Friends of Greystone are the nonprofit organization that is working to restore the mansion. This event supports the restoration efforts they do towards the mansion.

We are very excited to have about 135 vintage and beautiful vehicles here. We only take cars that are pre-1975. We feel it is such a great tie-in with our historic mansion, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. We have the vintage cars and elements on the upper lot, and we do get sponsors. Without our sponsors we could not have an event - we are very appreciative of their support. Our key founding sponsor was Gooding & Company - the premier auction house for Pebble Beach. They are here today and definitely support the event; we are very fortunate to have them involved.

We also have other amazing sponsors. This year we have Christofle from Beverly Hills - they will be presenting the awards today. We have beautiful silver platters and trays and champagne cooler. The award winners will be very thrilled to get their prizes. We offer 15 classes this year and have a motorcycle award. The guest ticket to the event provides the car owners everything to enjoy – all the food, all the drink. We have many alcohol sponsors including Stella Artois - they host two beer gardens for us. Then we have Asombroso margarita - they host two margarita stations for us. This year we are very excited to get Tito’s Handmade Vodka on board. The guests can enjoy all that. We have amazing catering; the food is unbelievable and all of that is included attendees don’t have to pay for that separately. Every guest that comes to the event gets a beautiful program book, listing all the exhibitors and beautiful photographs of each of the cars and all the sponsor ads -- it’s just lovely. The guests also are entitled to and get a poster. It is really a fun day.

The mansion is open for this event and it’s really open to the public. It is very fun because we offer the first floor open, with all the automotive related vendors that are amazing. We even have a vintage slot race track and racers for people to participate and play on them. One of our vendors in the mansion is Autobooks-Aerobooks - today they are hosting a book signing from Pete Lyons, a famous car racing author. We also provide lectures in the mansion. Today we are proud to offer Beverly Hills Confidential - a book written by our own head of forensic Clark Fogg and the book partner Barbara Schroeder. We also have Eleanor Schrader and she is talking about architecture, which is so appropriate for Greystone and the historic mansion. The Friends of Greystone have a couple of gift shops throughout the property. Also in the mansion we have David Lawrence posters and Christofle takes a room and doing a beautiful display giving discount cards for that. The Friends of Greystone have their gift shop in there. We have vendors such as Speed Furniture from Boston and its automotive related furniture. Walter Leather is here and they have beautiful leather jackets and they also show at Pebble Beach. Beverly Hills’ West takes a space in the mansion. We have jewelry and hand bags for the ladies to shop and to enjoy. We also have Sierra Madre Porsche parts and Blackford Insurance. It’s a fun experience for the guests to be able to go through the house to see it so beautifully decorated. Sotheby’s International Realty is one our big sponsors as well. They did a beautiful display at the porte-cocheres of the entrance to the mansion, which is lovely.

Our automotive sponsors include The Auto Gallery; they have been with us since the beginning of the show. This year we are really excited to have Tesla on site as a partner and we also have Sage Automotive. Their displays are beautiful with their new vehicles - mixed in along with the vintage vehicles. We have David Lawrence, a vendor but also a sponsor - he is making the Beverly Hills Speed Shop t-shirts for all of the guests. Maguiar’s provide wax kits for all of the award winners. Every year we very excited to have FIVA (Federaton of International Vehicles Anciens) and HVA (Historic Vehicle Association). They come and they select a vehicle and present an award as well. It is very special because they only support certain Concours shows - we are very pleased to have them with us.

We have numerous volunteers that work to help run the event. The Friends of Greystone are all volunteers - they helped us orchestrate an amazing cocktail party last night with all of the exhibitors and sponsors to thank them for everything they contribute to the event. We had 9 restaurants from Beverly Hills serving food. We had the bars open, we had Frette doing a beautiful display; Modern Luxury Angelino magazine did a great display- 460 Palm was a sponsor of that; City National Bank; and Etco. We are very appreciative of our sponsors, our volunteers and our supporters.
We are looking forward to attracting another great audience next year. Come again and join Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance May 1 2016!”
