Irwindale Speedway and Dragstrip, Dec 9 2017 - The Mooneyes Xmas Party is SoCal's biggest and best darn Car Show this time of year. A little birdie reminded us to get there early, as traffic and parking is near impossible by early morning. We got there before 8 and still had to park at the far north end of the Irwindale Speedway. Had we come 30 minutes later we could have parked on the famous track itself for the first and last time we'll ever get the chance.
On the drag track side, the charity supporting vintage car crowd shows up big with a thousand plus automobiles in various stages of completion. From the the roof rusted beach wagons to the finest lead sled, owners bring out the best in their cars and themselves. So many folks were into the Christmas spirit, we were moved to make music. Go ahead and sing along to this automotive branded version of an old classic carol - released one day at a time:
