Vancouver BC, March 19 2019 - On a record high warm spring day for Vancouver, there was one group of people that didn't care to be outside - the Canadian Automotive Press Corp in solidarity at the 99th Vancouver International Auto Show. This lucky group is technically at work on opening day of a car show, but maybe this is really their favorite play day of the year given the location and subject matter. The location is smack downtown Vancouver surrounded by skyscrapers, sails, seaplanes and amazing scenery across the water, making it impossible to pretend this isn't a great place to be.
Enough about Vancouver already - the subject matter this springish week is automobiles. Real fine ones. The person that conceived decorating this place with new, old and exotic cars is either a genius or master of the obvious. The show has everything going for it, and delivers on the built in expectations.
Our reward for sitting out of the precious sunlight (so soon after winter) is an unfettered pre-opening view of all the mechanical beauty unfolded on multiple levels of prime real estate. While the real press group was following the tour as dictated, we went on a long walkabout. No waiting 5 minutes for a clear shot on this day, folks.
